Afrikaans Is Groot
Afrikaans is Groot Returns to Cape Town with Historic 100-Year Celebration Concert
DHL Stadium is delighted to announce that Afrikaans is Groot will return to the Mother City for the first time since 2018, hosting a spectacular one-night concert on Saturday, 20 September 2025.
This special production celebrates a significant milestone – the 100th anniversary of Afrikaans as an official language in South Africa. The concert promises to be a fitting tribute to this centenary, bringing together the biggest names in Afrikaans music for an unforgettable evening at our world-class venue.
Arnold Coleske, executive director of Afrikaans is Groot, has promised a show of unprecedented scale. "This isn't just another concert – it's a celebration of our language's rich heritage. Expect a multitude of Afrikaans singers, dancers, musicians, and much more. This production will be on a completely different level from anything we've done before."
The concert is particularly meaningful as it returns to the Western Cape, where the Afrikaans language has its roots. The production team has emphasized that this will be a unique show created specifically for Cape Town, not a replica of their Pretoria concerts.
DHL Stadium Business Lounge can take advantage of an exclusive offer – golden circle tickets are available at R3,750 with a special 15% discount and hospitality services included. To secure these premium tickets email businesslounge@dhlstadium.co.za
Afrikaans is 100 Jaar Groot is proudly presented by Laeveld Agrochem in collaboration with RSG, Netwerk24, VIA, Flysafair, and Virseker.
